Lindsay and Alexander's Wedding Planning Bio

For the Kiddies

We have, at last count, nearly two million kids between my family and his. All of my family will be traveling from out of town in order to come to our little shin-dig. We'd like to have an "Adult Only" reception, but that would limit the family I have that could attend even more. Thankfully, our venue has a seperate room that we can set up for the kids. Being kids at heart, ourselves, we're trying to make it incredibly entertaining for the young'uns. We'll be setting up a TV playing various Disney movies, cushions to lounge around on, coloring books, a table with butcher paper covering it and a vast assortment of crayons and colored pencils. No markers for obvious reasons (Not to be a diva, but I'd like to keep my dress as white as possible). In addition, I've come across some activities that can be entertaining to the kids (there's a pretty wide age group we're dealing with, from toddlers to 8 yr olds).

Molded Crayons

I've seen this idea all over TheKnot and decided to try my hand at it. I know that when I get to coloring, I HATE being limited to only a few colors, so I've decided to make these out of more than our wedding colors. I absolutely adore how they came out. We won't be bundling these little hearts up, instead we'll cover tables in butcher paper and sprinkle the heart crayons over them (as well as provide other, regular crayons and pencils).

Pre heat your oven to 250 degrees
Unwrap and break up crayons into small pieces (not only will this create some great color combos, but it also helps the wax melt faster)
Bake for 15-20 min or until golden brown.... or, rather, good and melty.

Scavenger Hunt

I have had a love affair with Martha Stewart's Wedding website and have spent far too much time on it. And yet, amazing finds have come from it! Like these scavenger hunt templates for kids. I haven't made them yet, but this is where the idea stems from: http://www.marthastewartweddings.com/photogallery/conversation-starters#slide_6
