Lindsay and Alexander's Wedding Planning Bio

Save the Dates!

We originally went the postcard route, but sadly, our printing went terribly wrong. Thankfully, we only spend about $35 to have 100 postcards printed, and I'll be able to use those photos for a different project (after all, what else would we do with 100 photos of ourselves?).

New Project: Mission Mallrats
Alex and I went to the mall to scout out a photo booth. We printed up some signs (by signs, I simply mean, normal copy paper, with really large type. Nothing fancy) to hold during our "photo shoot." The booth printed us up two strips ($3) and then we were off to Kinkos to make copies! We made 40 copies ($13 and some change), got some scrap book paper from Michaels and a Martha Stewart circle cutter (about $20) and then picked up some thick crochet thread (for an unsettling lack of twine) ($2 ish). In the long run, a really easy, inexpensive project. And we love them so much more than what we originally had going on!

Alex slaving away, using my Martha Stewart circle cutting tool! haha :] He cut about 50 more circles than we needed, but...shhh... we won't tell him. I owe him a big back massage for hunching over for so long.

On the backs of the photo strip, we have a dot of removable glue so the photo can be placed wherever is best for our guests (fridge, bookmark, etc.)

We chose several different prints of scrapbook paper to make these out of. I think they're all wonderful and cute.

Candy Buffet/Bar Baggies

Picture
We think that paper bags are more the style of our overall feel for the reception. Originally, I was going to go easy on myself and merely buy a ton of plastic baggies (they have them by the ton at Michael's in the cake design section), to be sealed with a sticker or ribbon. But we both love this move so much more.

I was able to snag this BEAUTIFUL 'thank you' stamp from Joanne's

I used silver ink to stamp the 'thank you' into place. I pumped out 80 bags in less than an hour. The downside is, this silver ink has become the bane of my existance. I made my Christmas cards with it the same weekend, so I know it's the ink- it took, literally, two full days and nights for these bags to dry.
Our solution for sealing these bags lies in stickers. I KNOW they must exist somewhere, but I could not, for the life of me, find pre-cut sticker sheets that you can run through the printer. But, I could find solid sheet of sticker paper. So, using my circle cutting tool, I cut out nearly 100 stickers in 3" diameter circles, then hand stamped with the initial of my future last name.

Bridal Shower Invitations

Picture
The situation of my Bridesmaids is a sticky one. Two live in town with me, but go to school full time. One lives in CA, a young Mom and wife, another lives in TX and is in her Senior year of High School and is boy-obsessed (she's a sister) and the last, another sister and my Maid of Honor, is currently stationed in Afghanistan. I know a Bride isn't supposed to throw her own Bridal Shower, and believe me, I'm not. But, I am here to help. I graduated in May and since having done with that stress factor, I am able to devote so much more energy to projects, and this happens to be an easy one. On top of creating the invitations, which are simple post card-style, we ordered red envelopes from paper-source.com. One thing that I adore about this Bridal Shower, is that it'll be completely different from the wedding. I'm not involved with everything, in fact, I think my involvement officially ends with the invitations unless they need more help. :]]

Option A: which is the one we went with. We printed the text out on carstock, cut it down to size and the design is handstamped.

Option B: created teh same way as option A, the design on the left is hand stamped
